Godfrey Muhindo has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer for MTN Mobile Money Uganda Ltd reporting to the Managing Director. As Chief Commercial officer, Godfrey Will be responsible for running the commercial operations of MTN Mobile money looking after Corporate Accounts, Momo pay expansion, and Mobile money distribution across Uganda.
Godfrey is a financial and business management specialist with vast experience in Banking and more recently in Mobile money at Airtel where he pioneered the rollout of Airtel money pay, Airtel’s flagship product that competes with Momo pay.
He was previously the head of Electronic channels and distribution at Ecobank, Acquiring Manager at Barclay’s bank ( now Absa) where he led roll out of card ( Visa, MasterCard, American Express etc) payments in the market which was largely cash. He started his career at Post Bank as a banking officer ( Teller)
Godfrey holds a Bachelors of Business Administration and a Masters of Arts in Financial Services of Makerere University in addition to Certification in Digital Money from the Tufts University plus other trainings in Consultancy Skills, Fintech Contracts management, Card payments etc.
He previously lectured Money and Banking at Victoria University Kampala and served for 3 years on the Board of Trustees for Airtel Staff Provident fund where he chaired the Economic Committee.
