THE PUBLICIST MEDIA HONCHO OF THE WEEK: Kin Kariisa, CEO, Next Media Services

Mr Kin is a Ugandan businessman, media proprietor and philanthropist. He is the CEO OF Next Media Services a multimedia company in Uganda and commonly known for its flagship television network, NBS Television.

Starting out as a barber in Mbarara Town before joining Makerere University, where he later started developing web application for a Danish company, Metrocomia Uganda Ltd in 2000. He later quit Metrocomia to start his own company, Kin Systems. Kin took over NBS Television from its founder, Nathan Igeme  Nabeeta, in 2008 as CEO which grew into Next Media Services currently running as ( NBS  Television, Sanyuka TV, Salam TV, NBS Sports TV), a radio station known as Next Radio formerly known as Jazz FM, an online news portal known as the Nile Post. The Media Guru expands his company often with a recent addition of Next Events, delivering all events and management services.

Mr Kin employs some of the most talented and hard working journalists and personalities in Uganda who are dedicated to bringing excellence to the media industry. These include, Canary Mugume, a news anchor and media personality working for NBS TV, Samson Kasumba, a news anchor and show host at NBS TV, Solomon Serwanjja who was an investigative journalist at NBS TV but left to start his own Media house, Mildred Tuhaise, a news anchor, Rukh- Shana Namuyimba, a news anchor at NBS TV among many others. It is no doubt that his services are some of the most popular and outstanding in the country.
